ASAE & THE CENTER ANNUAL MEETING TO FEATURE PANEL ON
"THE AMC: ECONOMIC STRESS RELIEF FOR ASSOCIATION EXECS"

Industry Experts Open Dialogue On Advantages of Association/ AMC Collaboration
in Current Economic Climate

PHILADELPHIA (April 15, 2009) —AMC Institute President Steve Drake announced that the 2009 AMC Community Preconference Program, part of the ASAE & The Center for Association Leadership Annual Meeting in Toronto, will feature a session entitled, "The AMC: Economic Stress Relief for Association Execs" on August 15, 2009. The session is free and open to all Annual Meeting attendees.

A panel of industry experts will lead a discussion on the current economic climate, anticipated changes in the association landscape, and opportunities for associations and AMCs to partner together to effectively manage the downturn and maximize opportunities for both industries. Featured panelists include Bill Grusich, CMP, President, Hinton & Grusich; Vicki Loise, CAE, Executive Director, Association of University Technology Managers; Bill Barnes, CPA, Partner, Givens & Barnes; and Hugh Webster, Partner, Webster, Chamberlain & Bean.

"Many observers believe that our current economic circumstances and its effects, both financial and psychological, will transform how association staff and volunteer leaders conduct business," said Drake. It's a topic that's top of mind with association and AMC executives alike, and the ASAE & The Center Annual Meeting is the perfect forum to get industry professionals together to share ideas and opportunities."

"Recent conversations and experience with association leadership suggest more associations are considering association management companies for outsourced services, back office support, strategic partnerships, or possibly for a professional employment organization solution," added David Baumann, session moderator and chief operating officer of Executive Director, Inc., a Milwaukee association management company. "Our goal for this meeting is to engage panelists and attendees in a dialogue about the questions and possible opportunities for association/ AMC collaboration," he said.

"The AMC: Economic Stress Relief for Association Execs" session will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2009 from 2:15 - 3:30 p.m. at the Intercontinental Toronto Centre, 225 Front Street West, Toronto, ON, Canada.
