Potomac Management Resources Sold to Former COO; Carol Montoya Assumes Role as President

ALEXANDRIA, Va., February 7, 2006 – Carol Montoya is the new owner and president of Potomac Management Resources, a full-service association management and event planning firm, after completing the purchase of the company in early January from founder and former president Noelle McGlynn. Montoya has been with the company since 1999 and has been its chief operating officer since 2004.

"Carol has been running the day-to-day operations of the company for the past year and has been integrally involved in all aspects of the firm," said McGlynn, who is retiring from the industry. "There is no one better to carry on the work of the company in a seamless and professional manner. Her ability to service clients and her development of professional relationships with them have gone a long way towards the growth and reputation of PMR. I am confident she will continue to lead the company in a dynamic way."

Montoya, 33 years old of Alexandria, Va., joined PMR as Director, Client Relations after working on social marketing contracts for several government agencies at Lisboa Associates, a DC-based communications firm. At PMR she has produced large and small-scale programs and events and handled the day-to-day aspects of several professional associations. During her tenure, she has worked to broaden the company's base to include expanded offerings and services.

"I'm proud that Noelle has entrusted the legacy of her company with me," Montoya said. "Today, associations are driven by increases in membership, coupled with a greater need for service, benefits, and value, which is why they seek the expertise of PMR. I intend to continue the steady growth of PMR through value added services for our existing and future clientele. On a strategic level, I will stay very close to our clients, offering them the benefits of my accrued experience."

Montoya earned her B.A. in Political Science from Hood College in Frederick, Md. She is involved in the International Association of Association Management Companies (IAAMC), and serves on the boards of the Association for Women in Communications-DC Chapter, Hood College Alumnae and Alumni Association, the Editorial Board for Hood Magazine, and the Tibetan Museum Society. Montoya is also currently working to achieve a Certified Association Executive accreditation for herself and an IAAMC accreditation for the company.

PMR began in 1996 as an event planning firm for large scale community events, public policy programs, and conferences. As the business grew, the company built additional capabilities from the skill set used to execute successful events. In 2000, PMR took on its first association client and currently has a staff of nine that services nine association and foundation clients, in addition to a range of special event clients.

PMR's services include executive oversight, staffing, administration, financial management, board facilitation and relations, communications, member services, and event planning. Its current national and locally-based association clients include the Advertising Club of Metropolitan Washington, Retail Contractors Association, American Institute of Constructors, Women in Technology, and Women in Housing & Finance. Potomac Forum and the Fabretto Children's Foundation use PMR to plan their programs and events.
