The Harrington Company Clients Receive Six Awards of Excellence

Minneapolis, Minn. - May 10, 2006 – The Midwest Society of Association Executives (MSAE) honored four of The Harrington Company (THC) clients with six Awards of Excellence, a distinction designed to recognize association activities and programs that are making a difference within associations and communities.

The MSAE 2006 Awards of Excellence for projects or pieces completed in 2005 were divided into three categories: Awards of Excellence in Public Service, Association Excellence, and Communication Excellence. Entries were judged on goals and objectives, creativity and quality, and effectiveness and outcome.

The following THC clients won a total of six awards:

National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP)
City Survey 2005

Association Excellence in Educational or Resource Materials
The City Survey 2005 was conducted as a follow-up to the 2004 survey and fulfilled an urgent and growing need on the part of NAIOP members for more accurate and timely information on "initial local costs of doing business" for use in evaluating and selecting communities in which to develop new commercial or industrial buildings.

National Association of Home Inspectors (NAHI)
NAHI forum Magazine

Communication Excellence in Periodical Magazines or Journals The forum magazine provides excellent and technical reading material to assist in growing the home inspector's learning curve. The forum is published bi-monthly each year and mailed to all members. A copy is also included in prospective member information packets. The forum is also used for marketing purposes at tradeshows and by members distributing editions to real estate offices.

Polycom User Group (PUG)
2005 Conference – Blazing the Trail

Association Excellence in Special Events
The PUG Conference, themed "Blazing the Trail" not only due to the southwestern location in Phoenix, Arizona but also the industry being on the leading edge of technology, was educationally focused and consisted of concurrent one-hour sessions on industry-related topics. The conference also included an exhibit hall where members demonstrated their products and services.

National Association of Subrogation Professionals (NASP)
2005 Conference – LIVE…from the House of Subrogation!

Association Excellence in Special Events
The NASP Annual Conference brings together subrogation professionals and provides them with the opportunity to expand their knowledge base and refine their skills through sharing their experiences and networking with other subrogation professionals. The 2005 Annual Conference – LIVE from the House of Subrogation was held in Austin, Texas and offered over 60 educational sessions and over 90 exhibitors to an all-time record high of 1,100 attendees.

National Association of Subrogation Professionals (NASP)
NASP Subrogator Magazine

Communication Excellence in Periodical Magazines or Journals
The Subrogator magazine shares information among NASP members about subrogation and subrogation-related issues. Every issue is mailed to all members of the association, which is over 2,000 people and the Subrogator is mailed to all prospective members, approximately 4,000 additional individuals, annually.

National Association of Subrogation Professionals (NASP)
Membership Materials/Program

Communication Excellence in a Marketing or Communication Campaign
The redesign of the membership program and packet was to update information and to use the design to highlight the association's move from being a national organization to an international organization. The design and theme, "Going Somewhere?", are meaningful because it reflects the changes NASP is making as it begins the grand undertaking of spreading its mission to new members in new countries and truly emphasizes the fact that subrogation professionals can really move forward in their profession by becoming a member of NASP.

Each entry answered a series of questions that summarized the project or piece while discussing the project goals, target audience, goal development, action plan for goal achievement, staff roles, budget and financial results, and, finally, how the piece or project demonstrates excellence.

Winners will receive an engraved award and recognition at the MSAE Golden Anniversary Gala on May 18 at the Hilton Minneapolis. Recognition will also be given in the MSAE FOCUS newsletter and website.
