Julie Silverstein Appointed President of SmithBucklin

Henry S. Givray Continues as CEO and Assumes Title of Chairman

CHICAGO - January 25, 2006 – SmithBucklin, the world's largest association management company, announced today that Julie Silverstein has been appointed president of the company. She is the first woman president in SmithBucklin's 57-year history. Silverstein also continues to serve as chief operating officer, a role she assumed in 2000. Henry S. Givray retains his position as SmithBucklin's chief executive officer and has also been named chairman of SmithBucklin's board of directors.

"It is with great pleasure that we acknowledge the immense impact Julie's leadership and vision has had on the growth of our company and our clients during her 19 years at SmithBucklin," said Givray. "Her passion for excellence in operations and client management, and strong focus on providing superior client service and value, will remain key components to our company's long-term prosperity. I look forward to continuing to work side-by-side with Julie."

Silverstein's corporate responsibilities will continue to touch every aspect of SmithBucklin's business, including oversight of the company's three business units and overall client and employee management in both the Chicago and Washington, DC offices. She also oversees SmithBucklin's Convention & Trade Show Services unit in Chicago, the company's Marketing & Communication Services unit, and the company's Education & Program Services unit. In addition, Silverstein will remain integral to the company's new business efforts, as well as the development of key strategic initiatives and programs.

Silverstein's leadership and expertise have been instrumental in helping SmithBucklin client teams consistently deliver successes. Start-up organizations have also leveraged her entrepreneurial instincts to quickly achieve independence and self-sufficiency. For example, Silverstein was instrumental in establishing the International Oracle Users Group in 1993, and she also served as the organization's first executive director.

Silverstein is also responsible for developing customized-management solutions that drive growth and achieve organizational effectiveness for the company. She was intimately involved in creating SmithBucklin's Web & Technology Services unit in 1995, and played an equally integral role in the creation of the company's Education & Programs Services unit in 1998. In 1999, Silverstein was promoted to vice president of SmithBucklin's Technology Business Unit, and in 2000, she was promoted to chief operating officer - client management. In 2002, Silverstein became SmithBucklin's corporate chief operating officer.
